The layers of this piece were built keeping in mind the freedom an artist should explore and trust their intuition. The first layers involved an IKEA cardboard and pages from a childhood novel. The vaguely figurative yellow spray paint against the brown cardboard creates a striking contrast, setting the tone for all the other elements. There is a strategically placed, relatively realistic eye that emphasizes the emotion and theme of the need to explore, an eye open wider than usual to represent the desire to see.
